Google is incredible. Their search engine evolves constantly behind the scenes and in front of our eyes. Their goal is to personalize your individual search result to bring you the most relative and freshest web content based on your location.
One of our major responsibilities at The Idea People is to keep our web design and Internet marketing clients updated as to the latest web trends that can affect their business. The latest one involves Google (shock!) and the rollout of their new “Search Plus Your World” format.
Introducing Search Plus Your World from Google
OK, you’re familiar with Google Plus (+). Google “Search Plus Your World” finds both content that has been shared with your privately along with matches from the organic search results. And they’re all mixed into a single set of search results. But only if you’re signed-in to your Google account! If you’re logged-in to Google, the “Search Plus Your World” results will look similar to this graphic below.
The new Google Search Plus Your World might help some people who want to view content that they have shared plus new search results. Others will worry about privacy issues going public. And you’ll probably hear some “privacy invasion” issues cropping up here and there. But remember, Google is a business just like the rest of us!
For our clients involved with SEO and Internet marketing, this move by Google has a positive side. When you are logged-in to Google, you will see “personalized” and “unpersonalized” search results. And you can easily switch between the two! Obviously, this new search algorithm will require all of us to move more toward custom content and a more “personal” approach with our social marketing.
Facebook, Twitter, Flickr or any other “smaller” social site will not be included in these new Google search results. Really, the new Google “Search Plus Your World” can boil down to Google + and search results. So enjoy it!
