Many people across the Carolinas will remember NWA Wrestling from the 1960′s through 1980′s under the Charlotte wrestling promotion of Jim Crockett Promotions, headquartered in Charlotte. The famous wrestlers who worked for the NWA and Jim Crockett Promotions included Ric Flair, Jim Cornette, Harley Race, Dory Funk Jr., the Iron Sheik, Nikita Koloff, Tully Blanchard, Ole Anderson, Sting, Lex Luger, and the list goes on. The NWA was wildly popular across the southeast USA prior to Ted Turner purchasing large territories and creating the WCW in Atlanta.

Because the NWA has a global appeal and fan base, The Idea People will be developing micro-sites in different languages inside the main NWA website. ”We will also be creating interactive message boards and a heavy social media opportunity within the NWA website and brand, ” said Joyce. ”One of the goals that the NWA has is to use their web presence to bring their fans closer to the wrestlers and individual NWA promotions across the globe.”
