Charlotte Marketing & Advertising Company The Idea People

different small Being Excited About Your Business Usually Attracts More BusinessThere is a certain frame of mind that all business people should “be in” as you go about your days and weeks in business.   As we can all attest to at The Idea People, there is certainly no shortage of stress, challenges, the usual business problems, abrupt changes, starts and stops, and everything else “not positive” that makes up our business day.  But there sometimes can be a shortage of genuine excitement about what we do as a career that is easily overshadowed by “other things”.

So let’s just focus on the excitement part of owning or running your business.  This is the part that we all like to have as we start and end our days.  Genuine excitement and enthusiasm for the products and services we put into the marketplace.

How do we maintain the excitement levels when “other things” distract us?

1.  Use holidays and long weekends to get excited about what you do.  Tune out anything distracting and focus on Brainstorming 300x175 Being Excited About Your Business Usually Attracts More Businesswhat is good about your product or service.  What excites you about it?  What excites customers about it?  What made you attach yourself to this product or service?  Think about the good things about your products and services.

2.  Think about improvements.  What can you do to improve your product or service?  Is there added value you can bring to the table?  Can you introduce new packaging or pricing incentives?  How can your existing products or services reach beyond where they are today?  What annoys you about them today?  What can you do to put more excitement or edge into your products or services?

3.  Think about change.  Now that you have some improvements in mind, what about building in some change?  Can you freshen a product or service name?  What about strengthening the features and benefits?  Can you add new graphics?  What about adding a video profile of each product or service to the website?

4.  Promote out of the box.  Now that you have some improvements and changes in mind, try some new promotional ideas to reach new customers.  Plan a free webinar to promote the improvements.  Plan a free “drop by” for your clients.  Put a simple Countdown Clock on a new web page on your website to count down to the launch of the new ideas.  Run a Facebook or social media contest for people to “name” your new product or service.

We’ve always believed here at The Idea People that enthusiasm is contagious.  Since 1994 the biggest single resource that we have always shared is excitement and enthusiasm for what we do and for what our clients do.  We always re-center ourselves and brainstorm about improving our services.  And the outcome is always the same…more excitement and more business.  People want to do business with people who are excited and enthusiastic.  It’s contagious.
